August 28 -29, 2010
Retreat Chairman, Mike McAleer and Retreat Master, Fr. Bry Shields
Our home for the weekend
On the last Saturday and Sunday in August, close to one hundred members of the Men of St. Joseph gathered at the Visitation Monastery for their annual retreat. Fr. Bry Shields, President of McGill-Toolen High School and pastor of St. Pius X Parish, directed the men in reflecting on topics relative to developing spiritually within the circumstances of their daily life.

The Blessed Sacrament was exposed for the duration of the retreat. By a happy coincidence, the monstrance was one of six blessed by Pope John Paul II, each to be sent to an inhabited continent where it travels from parish to parish to encourage prayers for vocations to the priesthood. The retreat also included time for Mass, confessions, and small group discussions after each presentation by Fr. Shields.
